Our Legacy

Built in 1995, Vertex was one of the first climbing gyms in the Bay Area, and has been serving Sonoma County as a community hub ever since. We provide the space and the expertise for people to pursue true health, community , and authentic connections with others through the climbing lifestyle.

Vertex has consistently set the standard for quality of routes and instruction. As a result, we have helped build many strong climbing athletes, as well as some world class athletes. We intend to build on this legacy, and remain a place where our shared passion can continue to bring people together.

B-Rad Foundation

Honoring our beloved member Brad Parker

Brad Parker

The B-Rad Foundation was created to honor the life and legacy of the brother, son, friend, and lover we all lost too soon. We have come together to honor Brad through projects that support community wellness, outdoor adventure, and environmental stewardship. Brad was a gentle warrior on a mission to help people. He was a caring friend, passionate yoga teacher, healing massage therapist, and bad-ass outdoorsman with a deep commitment to living boldly and loving deeply.

Brad’s love for the natural world and his eternal positivity will continue to light our path now and into the future. Join us now in supporting causes that matter. Visit the B-Rad Foundation website to learn more.

The Curly Award

Sonoma county’s climbing community is what makes Vertex tick.  We have an outstanding group of folks who are passionate about climbing and experiencing life through adventure.

The Curly award goes to member or members who show exemplary dedication to enriching the lives of those around them.

Matt Curly- This guy is Awesome! “The award wasn’t named after him but we almost did.” On most days you will find Matt in the gym climbing hard and helping out with our youth programs.  Both of his kids are Vertex athletes and sure to out climb us all! Thank you Matt for your great presence and energy that you bring to the gym every day.
