100000017_largeEmily found yoga after a neck and shoulder injury. After practicing yoga regularly for only a few months, the pain she felt was gone. She believes that yoga is medicine. We can use it as a tool to heal emotional pain that manifests as physical pain in the body. Yoga has also motivated her to challenge herself more in life not just physically but mentally as well. She became a certified Hatha Yoga teacher with Could9Yoga in 2014 and is currently training to become a yoga therapist at the Stress Management Center of Marin. Her classes are flow based with a strong emphasis on breath awareness and alignment. She encourages students to find their on alignment by moving organically to find their own unique expression of the pose. She is also an outdoor enthusiast, seamstress, fire dancer, and dance instructor.
