Gym Membership and Use Policies

Application Requirements:

All members must complete the Vertex Membership Application, Financial Contract, Participant Waiver, and Medical form. Memberships are not transferable.

Initiation Fee / Dues:

Initiation fee is non-refundable. Dues are taken automatically each month from bank or credit card account. Vertex reserves the right to change membership rates with a minimum of 60 days notice.

Membership Sign-In:

At the start of each visit, all members must scan member card at front desk to sign in before using the facility.

Climbing Instruction:

Members (14 years and older) receive a free Beginning Rock class. Only Vertex Instructors may teach classes at Vertex.

Guests:

New members receive two guest passes upon sign-up and one additional pass every quarter. Quarterly passes are tracked in the front desk database and are good for three months. If pass is not used within the quarter, it is deleted from the database. Guests must be accompanied by member and sign a participant release form before using the facility. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests.

Climbing Safety:

Members must follow all gym safety and use rules.

Lockers / Towels:

If you wish to use a locker please provide your own lock. Lockers are for day-use only. If a lock is left on a locker overnight the lock will be cut off and the contents placed in the lost and found. Shower towels available for rent at front desk for $1.

Lost and Found:

Vertex courteously offers a lost and found bin, in which the belongings left in the facility are stored for a period of one month. Afterwards, whatever is not claimed is donated.

Car / Bicycle Parking:

Park bicycles in the bike rack located by the front door. Bikes are not allowed inside the facility. Day use bike locks are available upon request at the front desk. Vertex is not responsible for theft or damage to bikes/cars at the facility.

Membership Additions:

Additional members may be added to a family membership at no up-front cost, i.e. initiation fee.

Freezes:

Memberships may be put on hold for 1-6 months per year for a fee of $10.00 per month for the first person on a membership, and $5 per additional member (for family accounts). Vertex must receive written or email notice at least 15 days prior to the freeze period. Freezes must begin on the first of the month. Members will automatically return to regular monthly billing at the end of the designated freeze period. Annual members may freeze by paying $10 a month in advance for every month they wish to freeze; membership will be extended for that period.

Cancellation:

Members may cancel their membership at anytime. It must be done before the first of the month to cancel billing. If not completed before the first of the month, membership is not refundable. It can be canceled either by:

  • Completing and returning a Termination Form to the front desk
  • Or sending an email to info@climbvertex.com with your full name and the month in which ¬†you wish to stop paying dues

We would greatly appreciate if you can return your membership card in good condition so we can reuse it for another member and decrease our carbon footprint.

Repairs / Maintenance:

Periodic maintenance, repairs, facility improvements or events may make it necessary for Vertex to restrict the use of the facility. Dues and fees will not be refunded in the event of such temporary restrictions.
