Ready to take your climbing to the next level? Whether you’re new to climbing and want to expand your skill set or a seasoned climber looking to improve your technique, our Climbing Programs can help you reach your goals.
Drop-ins are welcome for most of our classes, however to guarantee your spot we strongly encourage you to make a reservation in advance.

Climb Time

A great introduction to indoor climbing. Our staff will give you a guided tour of the gym, provide valuable insight in climbing safety protocols, and be your belayer. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced climber, you are sure to have a great time. (This is not an instructional class)

Adult Climbing Practice

Adult Climbing Practice is a weekly drop-in insrtuctional event. It is taught by one of our routesetters and the curriculum changes weekly. There is a 6:1 participant to instructor maximum ratio. Must be 18 or older.

Intro to Climbing

Intro to Climbing is designed for the true beginner. You will be instructed in everything you need to know to be competent and confident in introductory technique and movement. We will review the grading system, how to fall properly, basic technique and movement while in a fun, friendly, inclusive environment. This program is free for new members in the first 30 days.

Beginning Belay

Designed for the true beginner. Our instructors will go over essential climbing gear and comprehensive top-rope belaying protocols as well as climbing technique and movement. You will be instructed to properly fit a climbing harness, tie a figure eight follow through knot and belay with an ATC/locking carabiner. At the end you will be prepared to take our belay certification test with confidence and to put into use climbing technique that will improve your natural movement on the wall. Minimum age 14 (12 for Vertex members).

Belay Crash Course

The perfect refresher for the already experienced belayer. Our front desk staff will go over essential climbing safety and facility top-rope belaying protocols, as well as proper belay technique and movement. We ask that you use the PBUS method, and tie in with a figure 8 knot and double fishermans safety knot. At the end, you will be prepared to take our belay certification test with confidence and hit the walls for some rope climbing. Minimum age 14 (12 for Vertex members).

Leading Edge

Route Reading Series

This 4-week series on route reading is a comprehensive course designed to teach you how to send your routes more efficiently, and in fewer attempts. The series is structured as follows:

Week 1 – Technique and Principles of Climbing: The first week is dedicated to getting everyone on the same page about what climbing technique means, learnin to identify different body positions and how to use them, and discussing a handful of guiding principles of climbing that help us in route reading.

Week 2 – Sequencing and Practical Exercises: The second week of this course is all about finding the right order for your moves and learning practical exercises to reinforce your sequence. You will learn both on and off the wall exericises as well as visualization techniques to help support finding the best sequence for your route.

Week 3 – Cruxes and Rests: In the third week we will talk all about cruxes and rests! You’ll learn how to identify and plan for your cruxes in addition to fully taking advantage of your resting positions.

Week 4 – Tying Everything Together and A Climber’s Best Friend: In the last week of this series we will tie everything together with group activities as well discuss what a climber’s best friend for route reading is.

Bouldering Bettys

The Bouldering Bettys is a community of female rock climbers pursuing impeccable climbing skill, physical strength and power, adventure in beautiful places, and camaraderie and support through indoor training and outdoor excursions.

Whether you have been climbing for years or are new to the gym, having your own personal climbing coach will take your climbing to the next level. These sessions will be tailored to your individual skill level and pursuits. See below for possible topics covered.
