Rock climbing is a great way to nurture kids’ exploratory spirits, build confidence, get moving and all in a fun, supportive environment. BEGINNER AERIAL SILKS WORKSHOP SERIES starts soon! Next month, Carolina will be offering both an Adult and Kid Aerial Silks workshop for beginner students on June 11th & 25th. The workshop for kids (ages 8+) will be from 3-4:15pm and the one for adults (ages 18+) will be from 4:30-5:45pm on those dates. You can either sign up for both classes (discounted rate) or an individual class. Registration is open for these workshops and please sign up in advance! Come learn this dynamic art form in June at Vertex! Workshops are geared for first time students or those who are at the beginning of their silks experience. Students will learn to climb, hang upside down, and various skills they can use to develop a routine. Progressions are available for every skill level and body type. You do not have to have any previous experience or specific skill set or strength level developed. Come have fun and learn to fly this summer!

10-11am: Comp opens for kids 17 and under only
11am-4pm: Comp is open for everyone
4-6pm: Free pizza, live music, beer and refreshments while the gym is set for finals
6pm: Comp Finals

ANCHOR BUILDING 101
We are offering a two-day anchor building course on July 7th & 8th, taught by Matthew Curley and Kai Schussler. This course will be capped at 4 lucky people, so sign up soon to reserve your spot!

The first day of the course, July 7th, is at Vertex from 6-8:30pm, where your instructors will teach you the techniques of building, breaking down and lowering off of bolted anchors. The second day, July 8th, is at Goat Rock and is all about practical anchor work on real anchors. This is an incredible opportunity to learn an essential skill for outdoor climbing. The course is $80 and you must sign up at the front desk to save your spot.
